Joseph Lewis Sr. and Sarah Cooke Lewis had three sons and three daughters

    1.    William Lewis married his cousin Elizabeth Lewis

    2.    Major John Lewis of the Revolutionary Army married his cousin Mildred                 Lewis, (daughter of Robert Lewis of Belvoir, Albemarle County, Va., son            of  John Lewis and Isabella (Warner) Lewis. Mildred Lewis was the sister of            William Lewis who married Lucy Merriwether, The father and mother of                 Merriwether Lewis.

    3.    Elizabeth Lewis married William Robarts in 1783. 

    4.    Sarah Lewis married _____ Redford.

    5.    Ann Lewis  married ______ Mosby. The Mosbys moved to Mercer County            Ky. from Va.

    6.    Joseph Lewis Jr. married 

           (1)    Sarah Williamson in 1764

                    Daughter married ______ Taylor

                    Nicholas Lewis went to Tenn. His descendants went to Texas   

                    William Lewis married and lived in Dinwiddle, Va.
