Thomas Childes second wife was Martha Virginia Day. Her father William Day was president of the 1st National Bank in Glasgow where his son in-law Thomas Childes later became president. He became a man of property. He owned the block of land from East Main Street to East Washington Street, to Lewis Street and Broadway, and built a house on Main Street (Near the corner of Main & Broadway) that still stands today across the street from Crows Funeral Home. They had 6 children.
